- TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is een belanrijk netwerk protocol dat twee hosts in staat stelt om te verbinden en data stromen uit te wisselen. TCP garandeert de bezorging van gegevens en pakketjes in dezelfde volgorde als die waarin ze werden verstuurd. Vint Cerf en Bob Kahn, op dat moment DARPA wetenschappers, ontworpen het in de jaren '70.
