Examples

These examples add an event listener for the HTMLMediaElement's canplaythrough event, then post a message when that event handler has reacted to the event firing.

Using addEventListener():

const video = document.querySelector('video');

video.addEventListener('canplaythrough', (event) => {
  console.log('I think I can play through the entire ' + '
      video without ever having to stop to buffer.');
});

Using the oncanplaythrough event handler property:

const video = document.querySelector('video');

video.oncanplaythrough = (event) => {
  console.log('I think I can play thru the entire ' + '
      video without ever having to stop to buffer.');
};
